Fort Michilimackinac located in modern-day Mackinaw City was an 18th-century French, and the later, British, fort and trading post at the Straits of Mackinac which at the tip of what is now Michigan. Today it is a tourist attraction where you can see cannons fired, blacksmiths work, and get a glimpse of what life was like at that time.
